How will I know how many hours to book?You'll start by filling out a New Client Application, which will help us direct you to the Hair Artist you're interested or best suited to work with. After you complete that, you'll receive an email with booking instructions including the number of hours your Hair Artist suggests. You are also free to book a Consultation with your Hair Artist prior to discuss you hair goals in person or virtually (video call) prior to booking your service.
What if I want to work with more than 1 Hair Artist?You totally can! We love sharing our clients at Obsidian Hair Studio! We truly believe each of our Hair Artists creates such a unique vibe at OHS. So maybe one day you want your hair just cut --- you'll book with one of our cutting specialists and maybe in a few months you want to refresh your color and you book with one of our color specialists. We love sharing!
Why don't you accept tips/gratuity?The practice of accepting tips has very messy and racist roots in our country. We like our Artist to determine their own pricing and what they feel is a fair rate for their art. We do love to receive Google and Yelp reviews and referrals as these make our business grow so much faster than a monetary tip! Feel free to show your Hair Artists some love on Google here!
How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment if you don't have a receptionist?You can feel free to text our phone 916.249.1595 anytime to cancel or reschedule as long as it falls within our 48 hour window. You can also adjust your appointment through our booking app here. Just login in and cancel or edit your appointment before the 48 hour window. We get that things happen from time to time, so please reach out as soon as possible if you know you won't be able to make your appointment to avoid late cancellation fees.
